How do I purchase an experience?

On the Local Gems website you can select the experience that you wish to purchase. When you have finished shopping you can go to the check-out page to pay.  You will be purchasing an experience voucher. You will be provided with full details of how to book the experience with the experience provider. Full details of availability and guideline for your experience will be provided.

How can I pay for my experience?

When you are ready to check out you can pay using a credit or debit card.

How do I get my voucher?

If you are purchasing an experience for yourself then you will receive a PDF voucher certificate with your confirmation email. In order to book the experience you will need to quote the unique experience code which can be found on the voucher certificate and in the confirmation email.

If you are purchasing an experience as a gift then you will receive a PDF voucher certificate with your confirmation. This can be emailed or you can print the voucher certificate for the gift recipient. If you prefer, we can print the voucher certificate and post it to you in a presentation box that will go through a letter box.  There is an extra charge for the posted box and you can add this to your shopping trolley before you check out.

I’ve received a gift voucher – how do I book?

Your voucher certificate should include details of how to book as well as lots of useful information about the experience itself. Each experience is different and the days and times vary so you will need to contact the experience provider to make the arrangements.  All the information should be provided to you but email us if you need us to send it again or if you have any other queries.

How long is the voucher valid?

The experience voucher is valid for 12 months.

Can I change my mind?

You can cancel or change one experience for another experience as long as you haven’t already booked your experience. There are certain conditions and changes are subject to availability so please email us and we will provide further information.
